Anniversary highlighted by 2015 Ram truck build at 2017 CES

LONG BEACH, CALIF., January 25, 2017 (MEDIAWIRE) – Thirty-five years ago, a company that had already made its name in the development of the VHS cassette and player, as well as multiple television and audio technologies, decided to turn its considerable expertise toward making great-sounding car audio. This year, JVC Mobile Entertainment commemorated three-and-a-half decades of driving experience enhancement during the 2017 CES. Its 800-square-foot-booth featured a 2015 Ram 1500 adorned with the official "35 Years Strong" logo.

"New “El Kameleon” screen innovations, the addition of Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, vehicle integration through iDataLink Maestro, plus accommodation of multiple streaming media services, signal a significant technological jump that can't be ignored," said Hazim Jainoor, marketing manager of the JVC Mobile Entertainment brand. "While 35 is not the typical celebration interval for anniversaries, we felt it was appropriate to recognize the company's accomplishments this year. In five or 15 more years, we will be looking at a whole new set of technologies to celebrate."

The Ram 1500 was outfitted by Misha Munoz, owner of Divine 1 Customs in Henderson, Nev. The facility is renowned for its celebrity builds, transforming vehicles for names such as Deadmau5, TJ Lavin, Carey Hart, Tim Love, Guy Fieri, Corey Harrison, Sergio Romo and Axel Rose.

The full-featured audio / video system is headed by the JVC KW-V820BT multimedia receiver with Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM® satellite radio in a Metra dash kit. The receiver’s left and right channels each connect to a KS-AX5104 amplifier, powering a trio of CS-ZX640 coaxial speakers in a fiberglass enclosure bolted along the lower portion of each door. For the low end, a KS-5101D mono-block amplifier drives three CS-GD1210 subwoofers in sealed, separated enclosures made of MDF and fiberglass.

The truck’s seats were reupholstered in red leather by Katzkin, which also covers the door speaker enclosures. The same color was used to treat the trim around the air vents. On the outside, PPG-supplied paint creates a patina look to simulate original red giving way to primer white. The truck also received performance upgrades with a K&N cold-air intake and Ride Tech suspension. The original 22-inch factory wheels were finished in chrome and fitted with Falken tires.

“We had a blast putting this vehicle together,” said Munoz, a 20-year installer and fabricator. “It’s especially memorable because we also celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Divine 1 Customs this past year. We’ve built some great cars for JVC and really value the relationship we have with the brand. Congrats on the 35th anniversary, and we are honored to have a part in it.”

The 35th anniversary Ram truck will make its rounds throughout the year, visiting both KnowledgeFest shows in April and August, as well as select distributor shows and consumer events. JVC will also be developing promotional materials with the commemorative logo. For more information, visit mobile.jvc.com.

LONG BEACH, CALIF. -- January 8th, 2020 -- JVC Mobile Entertainment is introducing 2 new wireless enabled multimedia receivers at CES that will be shipping in March, the KW-M865BW (MSRP $649.95) and the KW-V960BW (MSRP $749.95). These attractive models are designed with sleek looks, offering an easy user customization experience, top-end K2 and other sound technologies, and further enhanced vehicle integration support.

With both models featuring a 6.8-inch Clear Restive touch panel, users can clearly see and control the receiver’s unique customizable widget screens on the display, allowing functions such as radar detection information to be displayed when a compatible ESCORT® or K40® radar detector is installed in conjunction with an iDatalink® Maestro® RR, all of which are available optionally and sold separately. Additional vehicle integration display and control options available on compatible vehicles when an iDatalink Maestro RR is connected include: Tire Pressure Monitoring System info- including tire pressure and temperature, OEM climate display and control, OEM camera control, steering wheel control retention, vehicle gauges, dynamic parking guidelines, and many more.

Their intuitively designed dynamic graphic user interface features Live Wallpaper, which synchronizes the background color and visuals with music, creating a visual experience that compliments the audio. They both also incorporate JVC’s unique Advanced Gesture Touch Control, which enhances safety by helping users to keep their eyes on the road while using intuitive hand movements to control select popular functions, such as volume and track changes without ever needing to touch the receiver.

To further optimize performance and integration, both models now include hardware support for up to four cameras. Users are able to add various configurations of reverse, front, and blind spot cameras. When connected to the iDatalink Maestro RR, supported vehicles with blind spot cameras can automatically have the corresponding camera displayed upon activation of the vehicle’s turn signal. Additional performance enhancements include the ability to now mirror the display of an Android® or an iOS® device, using the JVC Mirroring application and a hardwired USB connection. Although wireless Android screen mirroring became a reality on select 2019 models, it was not available for iOS users. When connecting a smartphone to the receiver’s USB input, users can see exactly what the phone displays on the receiver itself, along with the display of many (not all) third party apps, keeping in mind that the vehicle must be parked with the parking brake engaged to use this feature.

To complement the already impressive wireless or wired Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ Connectivity, both models now also provide wireless playback of Hi-Res Audio when connected via Bluetooth to a compatible smartphone. To date, compatible smartphones include select Android models, which have menu selection options for bit rate transfer of up to 990 kpbs, that is more than three times the bit rate of typical Bluetooth audio. To achieve this, JVC utilizes LDAC™, an audio coding technology that enables Hi-Res Audio content over a Bluetooth connection. This helps to complement its support for Hi-Res Audio file playback of FLAC/WAV files via the USB input.

To gain a better in-car entertainment experience, both models also come SiriusXM-Ready® (SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner and subscription sold separately) providing access to over 150 channels of the widest variety of ad-free music, plus entertainment, news, comedy and sports you won’t hear anywhere else.

LONG BEACH, CALIF. – June 30, 2016 (MEDIAWIRE) – JVC Mobile Entertainment announced it is shipping the KW-V820BT, its 2016 flagship multimedia receiver introduced at CES earlier this year. The receiver is the first in the JVC line to incorporate Apple CarPlay, the on-screen interface that provides intuitive app control and voice command of myriad functions using Siri®. MSRP for the KW-V820BT is $599.95.

"We are pleased to finally release product to our retailers," said Hazim Jainoor, marketing manager. "There is a lot of excitement around the new head unit and we anticipate it to be a strong performer in the JVC Mobile Entertainment line this summer."

The KW-V820BT features JVC's "El Kameleon" anti-theft design to protect a full array of entertainment features, including Bluetooth and integrated apps for Spotify® and Pandora® Internet Radio. The unit is also SiriusXM-Ready™ and connects to the latest SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner (sold separately, subscription required). Its iDatalink Maestro connectivity enables control of factory installed entertainment options such as satellite radio, Bluetooth and media inputs. The unit's own inputs and outputs include dual 1.5-amp charging USB ports, rear-view camera input, three sets of RCA outputs, and A/V connections for rear-seat entertainment.

Sound-wise, the KW-V820BT carries a built-in, 50-watt x 4 MOSFET amplifier and tailors music with 13 bands of equalization, High-Resolution Audio Playback, K2 frequency enhancement, digital signal processing, time alignment and bass restoration from compressed audio.

LONG BEACH, CALIF. – April 4, 2016 (MEDIAWIRE) – JVC Mobile Entertainment introduced more than 20 new products during CES in January, including two new outdoor-specific in-dash receivers. With the newest marine speakers shipping this month, the producer of value-minded, high-performance audio products gives retailers a solid upgrade package for owners of boats and off-road vehicles.

The CS-DR6200M / CS-DR6201MW speakers (MSRP $119.95) comprise an oversized two-way coaxial framework with a one-inch balanced dome tweeter atop the 6.5-inch waterproof polypropylene cone woofer. The rubber surround complements a power handling capacity of 50 watts RMS / 150 watts peak. UV-resistant grilles feature an aggressive design in black or white, secured by stainless steel hardware to deter rust.

The speakers pair well with JVC’s two element-defying receivers, the KD-R97MBS and KD-X33MBS. The KD-X33MBS (MSRP $129.95) is designed for over-the-air sources and connected smartphones, while the KD-R97MBS (MSRP $149.95) adds CD playback and variable illumination. Both DIN-sized receivers are ready for smartphone connectivity with playback and control of a USB-connected iPhone (via the receiver or Siri® Eyes Free) or Android™-powered phone while providing 1.5-amp charging.

Built-in control for Pandora® and iHeartRadio® amplify a user’s unique music selections through the audio system. Bluetooth connectivity enables hands-free calls and wireless audio playback, and both receivers can connect to two phones simultaneously, enabling driver and passenger to select the phone to make and answer calls from the receiver menu. The duo is also SiriusXM-Ready™ and connect to the latest SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner (sold separately, subscription required).

Both receivers can power the speakers with 50 watts per channel or connect to amplifiers with three sets of 4-volt outputs. Built-in K2 technology expands the bit rate and frequency range to restore frequencies from compressed music, and a 13-band equalizer lets the listener tailor music to his or her personal tastes.

“Consumers want to take their music wherever they go, and these days, that includes off-road or on the water,” said Hazim Jainoor, brand marketing manager. “We’ve put together what we think is the perfect system—in terms of quality, versatility and price point—to enable outdoor enthusiasts to experience multiple entertainment choices and share them with friends.”

LONG BEACH, CALIF., September 22nd, 2020JVC Mobile Entertainment announced it is now shipping a SUPER-SIZED 10.1” floating panel digital multimedia receiver. The KW-Z1000W ($1,199.95 MAP) marks the first High Definition multimedia receiver to date for JVC, further elevating its multimedia line for the best in-car user experience.

The large-screen 10.1” HD 1280 x 720 (720P) display is about 2.4 times higher resolution than a conventional WVGA panel. Its highly accurate and responsive capacitive touch screen is paired with optical bonding technology- meaning that there is no longer an air layer between the liquid crystal module and the clear panel, providing the best in glare reduction and off-axis viewing, plus enhanced durability.  Its fully adjustable display allows you to change the depth, height, and angle for easy vehicle fitment. Depth: 2 steps(0, 25/32 inch by set screws), Height: 4 steps(0, 33/64, 1-1/32, 1-17/32 inch by set screws), and Hand Tilt: -10˚ ~ +45˚.

JVC’s Dynamic Graphic User Interface (GUI) displays user selectable “widget” options including album art images, photos, and iDatalink® Maestro sources. Swiping the monitor with two fingers lets you split the screen and display single, dual, or triple widget selections. Its unique Live Wallpaper background can also be enabled to synchronize background visual and color with music. User selectable wallpapers and photos in a “slide show” format can also be displayed simply by connecting a phone via Bluetooth® and transferring the images from the new JVC Portal App. A “Favorite” icon and physical button selection allows users to choose from a wide variety of shortcut selections to their favorite screens. As is always a stand-out from JVC’s multimedia receivers, the KW-Z1000W includes the ability for users to benefit from the crowd-favorite Gesture Touch Control feature. With Gesture Touch Control, users can keep their eyes on the road, while using intuitive finger movements to control select popular functions, such as volume/track changes, widget format and style.

The KW-Z1000W touts enhanced driver assistance vehicle safety technology, by incorporating 4 selectable camera inputs. When an optional Automotive Data Solutions® iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 is connected, the receiver can also automatically switch to OEM or aftermarket blind spot camera system views on the display when a turn signal is activated (supported vehicles only). Both the RR and RR2 modules provide seamless retention of factory safety and camera systems, steering wheel controls and add performance gauges in most modern vehicles. In addition, the RR2 provides on screen Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) safety alerts (supported vehicles only) and three programmable outputs that can be used to activate things like a winch or a light bar from the KW-Z1000W’s on-screen controls. Radar detector information can also be displayed on the screen when used with a compatible K40 (RR or RR2) or ESCORT (RR2 only) radar detector system.

When it comes to sound quality, the KW-Z1000W takes it to the next level, implementing its first Parametric EQ control options. With the Parametric EQ, sound quality enthusiasts can adjust the gain and Q for extremely fine tuning within the high pass, high shelving, peaking, low shelving, and low pass filter selections. A 3-way crossover is also available, as well as Digital Time Alignment, Dual Zone Audio controls, and the JVC Exclusive K2 sound effect for enhanced digital sound quality. 3 sets of 5 Volt RCA Pre-outs are available for system expansion, as well as support for Hi-Res Audio™, both wired and wireless over a Bluetooth connection for select Android devices, thanks to incorporating LDAC® technology.

The KW-Z1000W enables users to connect to Apple CarPlay™ over a wireless or USB connection, and Android Auto™ over a wireless or USB connection. It also sports an HDMI® input, allowing for an easy connection method for mirroring a smartphone or displaying the content from any device that has an HDMI output. It also includes wireless mirroring technology, enabling users with compatible Android phones to display and control their phone from the receiver, all without the need for any cables.

An HD Radio® Tuner is built-in, allowing users to enjoy listening to AM/FM stations with enhanced content and better sound quality, all with no monthly fees. It is also SiriusXM-Ready® (SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner and subscription sold separately), providing access to over 150 channels of the widest variety of ad-free music, plus entertainment, news, comedy and sports you won’t hear anywhere else.

“The number of firsts that this SUPER-SIZED receiver features are unprecedented in JVC’s multimedia line-up history,” said Ron Trout, JVC’s Director of Sales. “The pent-up demand for this product by both dealers and end-users is incredible, and we couldn’t be more excited as a company to deliver on our promise of exceeding expectations with the KW-Z1000W.”

Users choose between stylish flat face or variable illumination

LAS VEGAS – January 5, 2017 (MEDIAWIRE) – JVC Mobile Entertainment replaced its popular KD-R975BTS with the KD-R985BTS, and introduced the new KD-R988BTS to create a single-DIN flagship duo that provides two style options. Buyers can select complete variable illumination to match vehicle lighting, or take one-button simplicity in a new flat-face design. Besides this distinction, both models provide a similar user experience, including two new features that make listening to music a social event among passengers in the vehicle.

“The KD-R985BTS and KD-R988BTS offer two distinctly different looks, both of which enhance the style of any vehicle,” said Hazim Jainoor, marketing manager for the JVC Mobile Entertainment brand. “We set out to make them visually appealing and fun to interact with, but that doesn’t diminish the fact that they produce high-quality audio and provide seamless smartphone integration.”

The KD-R988BTS features JVC’s new flat-face design with an ergonomic main feature button. The elongated, dual-press button can be set to almost any color to offset the blue and white of the radio display, and controls source selection, volume and sound adjustment as well as answering and ending phone calls over a Bluetooth®-connected smartphone.

The KD-R985BTS by contrast has three zones in which illumination can be set individually. Its refreshed design includes illuminated preset buttons and USB port. Both units share a new 2-line display that shows source and status information in an easy-to-read format.

The new units are the first to feature JVC Streaming DJ, which lets up to five smartphones be simultaneously connected over Bluetooth to play music through the receiver. Passengers can easily switch songs by pressing play on their phone to push their media to the receiver. JVC Streaming DJ works with songs stored on the phone as well as the phone’s streaming media apps. Also, with the JVC Remote smartphone app available from the App Store or Google Play, passengers can operate the receiver, view sources and make audio adjustments from a compatible smartphone connected via Bluetooth.

Smartphones and storage media can connect through the front USB port which also charges select devices. Both models feature built-in control of content played from a connected iPhone® or Android™-based smartphone. A connected iPhone (wired or Bluetooth) enables Siri Eyes Free support to let users get information and perform functions using only voice commands. In addition, both units let users control popular streaming services Pandora Radio® and iHeartRadio directly from the receiver interface, and are SiriusXM® ready with connection of the SiriusXM Connect SXV300 satellite radio tuner (subscription required; sold separately).

The KD-R988BTS and KD-R985BTS will connect up to two smartphones simultaneously via Bluetooth to make hands-free phone calls and play stored or streaming content. They can accommodate several audio file formats—most significant of which is FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec)—and their Sound Adjustment suite works with the entire system to enhance sound quality and optimize the listening stage.

Both units include a 13-band equalizer with eight presets and three parametric equalization settings for most music types. Built in amplification (50 watts x 4) plus a direct connection for a high-efficiency subwoofer make each receiver an easy upgrade for most standard audio systems, and high- and low-pass filters allow connection of external amplifiers to the two sets of four-volt, pre-amplified outputs.

The KD-R988BTS ad KS-R985BTS are available now with suggested retail pricing of $140 and $130, respectively. For more information, visit mobile.jvc.com.
