Alpine Unveils a 16-Channel Hi-Resolution Wireless Digital Signal Processor

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. introduced the newest Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to their lineup with the PXE-X09 Hi-Resolution Wireless DSP. The PXE-X09 includes 16 channels for seamless aftermarket sound integration and tuning tools that correct acoustical abnormalities in vehicle interiors. The PXE-X09 debuted today during the 2020 International CES, taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Jan. 7-10.

January 7, 2020 -- “The PXE-X09 is for the discerning audio consumers who are looking for a better music experience in their vehicle,” said Mike Anderson, Vice President and General Manager, Brand Business Unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “Its versatile application with a factory or aftermarket system makes it the ideal sound upgrade. Consumers can access the onboard tone generator from their smartphone for on-the-fly adjustments.”

OEM Integration

The PXE-X09 has the necessary tools for OEM system integration. The processor is versatile and can be used with a factory system, Alpine head unit, or other aftermarket head unit while adding aftermarket amplifiers or speakers through the flexibility of the 16-channel multi-use inputs

The PXE-X09 includes a built-in Real-Time Analyzer (RTA) to gauge the sound system’s performance in reference to how it responds to the acoustical abnormalities in the vehicle. Ten bands of equalization per channel can flatten the input signal for real-time sound adjustments to develop a well-balanced response and proper center sound stage.

PC and Smartphone Control

Building off the success of the PXE-0850’s HMI (Human-Machine Interface), the PXE-X09 includes PC and smartphone control for real-time, wireless tuning adjustments using Bluetooth® technology and the “PXE-X09” smartphone or PC app (available on the App Store® and Google Play™).

The included remote controller with rotary knob can be installed on the dashboard for quick volume and bass adjustments and source selection. Music can be streamed using the PXE-X09’s Bluetooth® connection and played through the existing speakers.

On-Board Quick Setup

The PXE-X09 includes a configuration wizard that gives quick identification to the components in the factory system then appropriately sums the channels to get a full-range signal.

The PXE-X09 will ship in March for $1,500 SRI and will be for sale at Alpine Authorized retailers or online at www.alpine-usa.com through Crutchfield. Installation options can be found on the Alpine-USA website through the store locator.
