JUNE 2016: HOLLY HILL, FL – Metra Electronics has announced its stereo kit for the Ford Transit models 2015 and up (without a 4.2” screen). 

With the trim panel painted gray, the new 99-5832G kit provides ability to install an ISO DIN radio with pocket, and an ISO DDIN radio on this popular Ford model.

This kit includes brackets to mount the radio and a large dash panel to complete the job. Complete the installation with our AXXESS wiring harness, part number 70-5524 and Antenna Adaptor, part number 40-EU10.

Holly Hill, Fla. – January 06, 2020 - Axxess® by Metra Electronics® is introducing a new radio replacement interface for GM, a new amplifier retention interface for Ford A2B amplified systems and an amplifier retention interface for Mercedes MOST25 systems at CES. The AXDIS-GMLN31 is a data interface with steering wheel control retention for non-amplified systems in select 2019-up* GM vehicle applications and is part of the AX Series. It provides NAV outputs for parking brake, reverse and speed sense, provides 12-volt/10-amp accessory power, in addition to retaining R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power), chimes, and audio controls on the steering wheel. This interface also retains balance and fade (except in OE systems with fixed level outputs), and is Micro “B” USB updatable. It features an improved initialization process with a reset button located between the two Micro-Fit™ connectors.

The AXM25-MB1 is an amplifier retention interface for select 2012-2017 Mercedes vehicles with a MOST25 amplifier. The AXA2B-FD1 is an amplifier retention interface for select 2017-up* Ford models with an A2B amplifier. This interface is designed specifically for amplifier retention and must be used with an Axxess Ford radio replacement interface. Both of these new products bring easy integration solutions for installers replacing the factory radio in GM, Ford or Mercedes vehicles. A new solution for BMW and Mini Cooper, six new solutions for GM and one new solution for Mercedes have been added to the Total Control Interface Series (AXTC) product line. The AXTC product line was first launched at CES 2019 as a new data interface that combines all of the features of Axxess’ steering wheel control technology with additional patent-pending features into one robust solution for new radio installations. When replacing a radio, the interface utilizes patented Auto-Detect technology1 that automatically detects the vehicle type, radio connection and preset controls, while allowing the ability to dual assign steering wheel controls. Holly Hill, Fla. – January 06, 2020 – Axxess Integrate® by Metra Electronics® is expanding its line of STOP/START engine override interfaces to now cover GM vehicles. The AXSSO-GM is an interface designed to automatically disengage the STOP/START engine feature on select 2016-up* GM vehicles. This new and exclusive technology was previously introduced at CES 2019 for select Ford and Chrysler models. The patent-pending interface can be used with factory or aftermarket radios. The AXSSO-GM has weather-resistant housing and harnessing, with a simple two-wire installation under the hood.

As some newer vehicles come equipped with a way to disengage the engine’s STOP/START feature, there are still several GM models that do not allow the driver to turn this off. This may become bothersome at long traffic lights during hot or inclement weather, as it could affect the vehicle’s ability to cool or heat the interior. The vibration of the engine turning on and off may also be annoying to some drivers during city driving. Now, installers will have the ability to offer GM owners the option to override their engine STOP/START feature with the new AXSSO-GM interface. DSP Package

The AXDSPX-HK5 is a complete DSP package designed to retain the OE functionality when upgrading S/PDIF amplified sound systems in select 2020-up* Hyundai/Kia vehicles. It includes a vehicle-specific amplifier bypass harness and features combined digital signal processor and data interface technologies that allow installers to upgrade their music experience and customize their sound. The DSP integrates with factory audio systems to retain chimes and voice prompts. Axxess's DSPX series features 10 channels of output and a selectable 31-band graphic EQ or 5-band parametric EQ per channel. It offers a selectable crossover slope, independent equalization for each output, and the ability to read, write, and store configurations for future recall.

Total Control Interfaces              

New interfaces have been added to Axxess's Total Control series, designed for use when replacing the factory radio in select 2002-2024 Lexus/Toyota and 2007-2015 Mazda vehicles. These products utilize patented auto-detect technology that automatically detects the vehicle type, radio connection, and preset controls while allowing the ability to dual-assign steering wheel controls. They provide wires for multimedia radios (parking brake, reverse, speed sense), accessory power, 12-volt illumination output, and for retaining R.A.P. and balance and fade. The Total Control series is a universal solution designed to work with all major radio brands and can be manually programmed for most vehicles.

MOST25 Interfaces            

Axxess is displaying two new interfaces for select 2009-2016 Porsche vehicles with MOST25 amplified audio systems. These interfaces provide accessory 12-volt power, parking brake, reverse, and speed sense NAV outputs, retain audio controls on the steering wheel, and are micro “B” USB updatable.

Radio Replacement Interface

A standard radio replacement data interface has been added to the lineup for select 2012-2018 Ford vehicles. This new interface retains R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power) and provides 12-volt 10-amp accessory power and NAV output for parking brake, reverse, and speed sense. It features easy plug-n-play connectivity, and a pre-wired harness is included for Axxess's AXSWC, sold separately.

Output Generators

Two new output generators will be introduced that are designed to fit select 2014-2024 Ford vehicles. They add up to eight accessory outputs, including accessory, reverse, parking brake, high beam, left and right turn signals, illumination, and vehicle speed. These products are easy to install with plug-n-play wiring and can be configured on a Windows PC via the Axxess Updater.

Camera Retention Interface & Harnesses

Axxess is displaying a camera retention interface designed to fit select 2023-up Jeep/RAM. The AXAC-CH8 is a camera-switching interface that retains the factory backup camera and allows for the installation of an aftermarket front camera and/or side cameras that can be added to the factory radio. It can connect up to three additional camera inputs while retaining the factory camera. New camera retention harnesses will also be shown at SEMA, designed for use when replacing the factory radio to retain the factory backup camera, which can be viewed through the display screen on the aftermarket radio. New vehicle applications for these harnesses include Select 2009-2016 Ford/Lincoln, 2010-2013 Acura, and 2006-2016 Toyota.

USB Retention Adapter

The AXUSB-MI2 fits select 2020-2023 Mitsubishi vehicles. The 12-inch-long adapter cable retains the factory USB port. This product is easy to install, with the radio connecting via the rear USB input.

Launching at the show are new vehicle-specific DSP packages, MOST25 audio system interfaces, Total Control series interfaces, a backup camera retention harness, interfaces designed for Pioneer® radios, OnStar® retention interfaces, and more. DSP Packages

Axxess's new DSPL and DSPX packages include applications to fit select GM vehicles and a much-anticipated integration for 2021-up* Teslas with amplified systems. This package will be among the first of its kind in the industry, designed specifically to upgrade the audio system of this vehicle brand. These DSP packages include amplifier bypass harnesses and feature combined digital signal processor and data interface technologies that allow installers to upgrade their music experience and customize their sound system. Pioneer Radio Interfaces

Axxess is introducing various vehicle-specific interfaces at SEMA for installing select Pioneer® radio models. With these interfaces, vehicle information and settings controlled on the factory screen are retained, displayed, and controlled on the Pioneer® touchscreen. These displays, such as HVAC functions, would otherwise be lost after replacing the head unit. The built-in integration technology from Axxess also retains safety chimes through an included offboard speaker, retains audio controls on the steering wheel, retains R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power), and provides 12-volt 10-amp accessory power and NAV output for parking brake, reverse, and speed sense. These interfaces will retain OnStar® functionality, chimes, balance and fade, and R.A.P. (retained accessory power). They also provide NAV outputs, including parking brake, reverse, speed sense, and 12-volt 10-amp accessory power.

Turn-on Interface

The AXTO-MAX interface is designed to fit 2016-up* Nissan Maximas with amplified systems. Interfaces from this series are intended for vehicles that require a data signal to turn on OEM amplifiers, retain rear seat entertainment, and more. This new interface will retain the factory backup camera, the audible parking sensor warning, the factory AUX-IN jack, and balance. It also provides accessory power (12-volt 10-amp) and wires for multimedia radios (park brake, reverse, speed sense). This interface can be paired with the AXSWC steering wheel control interface (sold separately), and a pre-wired AXSWC harness is included.

Add-a-Sub Interfaces

Various new interfaces from Axxess's Add-a-Sub series will be introduced at SEMA to fit select Chrysler, Ford, and GM vehicles. These interfaces have 2-channel non-fading 5V RMS output, a fixed low pass frequency of 234Hz, and 250mA remote turn-on output. There are options designed for amplified and non-amplified vehicles, and a bass knob & vehicle-specific harness are included. New applications to be displayed at SEMA include:

Holly Hill, Fla. –  August 1, 2019 – Axxess® by Metra Electronics® is now shipping a new product designed to automatically disengage the STOP/START engine feature on vehicles, featuring patent-pending and exclusive interface technology. This interface, the AX-SSO, is now available, along with vehicle-specific harnesses for select Ford vehicles. A solution for select Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles is coming soon and Axxess will be expanding the AX-SSO product line to work with additional vehicle applications.

Having the engine turn off when stopped may be bothersome to some people, especially if it causes the air conditioning or heat to turn off at a long traffic light during the summer or winter months. Now installers can offer drivers the option to override or re-engage this feature automatically, whether they have a factory or aftermarket radio installed. The vehicle type is configured through Axxess Updater PC software and a simple four-wire installation is done at the radio location.

Holly Hill, Fla. – December 19, 2018 – Heise LED Lighting® by Metra Electronics®  announces a new replacement adapter that will allow 7” LED headlights to fit into the new 2018-up* Jeep JL model. The HE-JLB7 includes factory to H4 wiring adapters and is one of three new products Heise has released for this new model.

At the 2018 SEMA Show, Heise debuted a pillar lightbar bracket designed for a 50” straight lightbar with unique anti-sway stabilization hardware. The HE-JAPB also includes two mounting areas for cubes or working lights. This bracket allows the new Jeep Wrangler JL to be outfitted with existing Heise lightbars, cube lights and work lights. The HE-JLPMB post mount bracket was also introduced for the JL at SEMA, offering six different mounting locations fitting cube, work or driving lights. For a fully synced lighting upgrade with RGB lights that can all be controlled from the Heise smartphone app, Heise has 7” round Jeep replacement LED headlights with an RGB halo, matching RGB fog lights, Infinite Series lightbars, cubes and RGB accent light kits. The replacement Jeep headlights and fog lights are also available in several white single color options.  Heise’s existing Jeep headlights and fog lights will fit the new JL with use of the HE-JLB7 and HE-JWFLAH adapters.

The DRL Series is available now in 8”, 14”, 22”, 30”, 40” and 50” dual-row straight LED lightbars. They have an integrated daytime running light in the center along the entire length of the bar, with a clean white light that provides additional visibility.

The daytime running lights can be lit without the off-road lights being on and are powered by 6V to 24V circuits, using new 3-wire DT3 and ATP3 plugs and pigtails. The DRL Series is rated IP67 with a military grade metal breather port that allows moisture to escape. Holly Hill, Fla. –  October 16, 2018 – Heise LED Lighting® by Metra Electronics®, the leading manufacturer of aftermarket 12-volt installation solutions, will introduce a wide range of new automotive LED lighting solutions at the 2018 SEMA Show. Heise is unveiling a new Infinite Series, featuring RGB backlit lightbars and cube lights, to complement their existing RGB light kits. To fit more bumpers and hidden applications, three new 20-inch lightbar sizes will be added to Heise’s Dual Row, Blackout and Marine lightbar product lines.

Adding to their existing line of high-output cube style lights, new 140-degree cubes will be introduced, featuring a hybrid beam pattern for better light coverage and more LEDs for an even brighter output. Change your lightbar color with the swipe of a finger with the new Heise Infinite Series. Heise’s popular RGB lights with mobile app controllers are now available in RGB backlit lightbars from 8 to 50 inches and a cube style LED, as part of the new Infinite Series. These dual row lightbars and cubes offer pure white light with 16 million selectable colors as a backlight, controlled by a mobile app. The military breather port allows moisture to escape and the virtually unbreakable polycarbonate lens will withstand the toughest environments. The backlit RGB lights use the same controller as Heise’s popular RGB accent lights, allowing the Infinite Series to be synchronized and controlled using a single mobile app. The HE-CBRGB controller is sold separately and required for RGB functionality. 20 Inch Dual Row Lightbars:

Heise dual row lightbars will be available in a new 20-inch size, which is a popular length for many aftermarket bumpers and hidden applications. The 20-inch lightbars will be available in Heise’s traditional dual-row style, blackout style, and white marine housing with (36) 3-watt LEDs that provide 8,640 lumens.

140-Degree High-Output Cube Lights:

Bright, wider-coverage 4-inch cubes are joining the Heise line of cube style LED lights. The HE-HCL140 has a hybrid 140-degree flood beam pattern with a 15-degree spot beam that provides the benefits of both an intense spotlight and wide flood beam in one light, with 30 watts providing 2,850 raw lumens. “With 6 LEDs on each side, these new cubes provide extra illumination and more light coverage than traditional style cubes,” says Osborne. Heise is introducing new LED replacement headlights with a partial halo in 5x7” and 4x6” sizes, commonly used to retrofit older Jeeps, trucks and classic cars. Chasing LED 12V Power Injectors

The HE-CHASE-PIH is a package of four 12-volt power injectors that make it possible to install Heise LED chasing lighting kits as a single loop of LED lights that encircle the entire vehicle and control it all from one Heise Connect chasing controller. Simply add one of the power injectors in line with the LED strip installation every 15 feet or every 16 rock lights. This will increase the length, eliminating the problem of splitting the installation to either side of the vehicle. These

power injectors work cohesively with all Heise chasing LED lighting, including strip lights, rock lights, tube lights, wheel rings, lightbars, cube lights, underglow kits, and grille lighting kits, as part of the Heise Connect Universe (HCU).

Solder-On Adapters

New 4-packs of Heise Connect solder-on adapters will be introduced, allowing installers to customize and expand chasing LED installations using their existing controller. They can extend

Heise LED lighting by connecting one of these adapters at the end of an LED strip or in-line at any point in the harness by simply cutting the strip or extension cable connector, soldering the adapter's male and female connectors, and inserting wiring for a Y adapter, rock light, or other Heise lighting product. They are made from durable molded plastic that boasts high impact strength to ensure lasting performance, and stainless steel mounting hardware is included. These covers are compatible with Heise LED rock lights, and are installed easily over the existing lights, so drilling additional holes to mount them on a vehicle is unnecessary.

Chasing Accent Lighting Kits

Heise LED is introducing three new accent lighting kits to add brilliant LEDs to vehicles. They are displaying a kit to illuminate truck beds, a kit to add backlighting to vehicle front grilles, and a kit that dramatically illuminates both the front and rear interior footwells. The new chasing LED Truck Bed Lighting Kit (HE-CHASE-BED)​​, Grille Lighting Kit (HE-CHASE-GRILLE), and Interior Lighting Kit (HE-CHASE-INT) each come with a Heise Connect chasing controller and include all the chasing LED tubes, cables, and hardware needed for easy installation.

Single RGB, RGBW, and Chasing Expandable Wheel Rings

Heise LED will also display new single expandable wheel rings available in RGB, RGBW, and chasing options that make it easy to replace a damaged wheel ring or enhance a lighting system by illuminating a vehicle's mounted spare tire. There are two new sets for each LED lighting option with wheel rings that expand from either 11-inch to 14-inch or 15-inch to 18-inch in size. A split ring design makes it easy to assemble and adjust the aluminum wheel rings to fit the wheel's diameter. Each kit includes two aluminum expandable wheel ring segments, a cuttable LED strip, a 10-foot extension cable, a Y adapter, thread lock, mounting brackets, and hardware.

Rock Light Expansion Packs

New rock light expansion packs that quickly and easily expand a vehicle's Heise LED lighting system or replace damaged rock lights will be displayed. These kits are available in RGB, RGBW, or chasing options and can be paired with virtually any Heise LED product. They include four daisy-chainable rock lights, four curved rubber-covered mounting bases, four 10-foot extension cables, and a drill template. These lights can be paired with their respective RGB, RGBW, or chasing Heise Connect controller, sold separately.

Chasing LED Tubes

Also on display will be new chasing LED tubes that installers can use to customize the LED lighting system on any vehicle or easily replace a damaged light with the correct size chasing LED Tube. These lights have both an input and output to be used anywhere in a chasing daisy chain of lights and are available in 9-inch (HE-CHASE-T9), 12-inch (HE-CHASE-T12), 18-inch (HE-CHASE-T18), 28-inch (HE-CHASE-T28), and 48-inch (HE-CHASE-T48) lengths.

Heise Connect Low Voltage Chasing Extension Cables

SEMA attendees will also learn about new low-voltage chasing extension cables designed for integration with the Heise Connect low-voltage chasing controller (HE-CHASELV-CB). These cables provide flexibility and convenience, allowing installers to extend and expand their illumination possibilities like never before. These cables, available in 2-foot (HE-CLV-2EXT), 4-foot (HE-CLV-4EXT), and 10-foot (HE-CLV-10EXT) lengths, make it easy to extend chasing LED lighting to every corner of a vehicle to illuminate everything from the undercarriage to the interior to the engine bay. They are constructed from high-quality materials to ensure reliable power distribution, a stable connection, and long-lasting performance. Heise LED is also introducing a new 6-inch low voltage chasing Y adapter (HE-CLV-Y) that allows installers to create intricate and elaborate lighting setups by effortlessly splitting a daisy chain of multiple lighting components for versatile customization.

Wheel Ring Backbone Y Harness Sets

Heise LED will also debut new RGB (HE-RGB-WWH), RGBW (HE-RGBW-WWH), and chasing (HE-CHASE-WWH) wheel ring backbone Y harness sets at the SEMA show designed to help maintain LED lighting systems and keep them operating at peak performance. These sets include left and right harnesses and let installers replace damaged cables without purchasing a new lighting kit. Heise Connect Controller RF Remote

Another new item that Heise LED will introduce for 2023 is an RF remote that works with all Heise Connect controllers to operate RGB, RGBW, or chasing lighting systems. This will serve as a replacement for lost or damaged controller remotes and will also act as a secondary remote for users who wish to have a backup or have more than one person control a vehicle's LED lights at the same time.

These new products work cohesively with all Heise RGB, RGBW, or chasing LED lighting, respectively, as part of the Heise Connect Universe (HCU). When connected to Heise Connect RGB, RGBW, or chasing controllers, they can be controlled via the Heise Connect app, available for download on smartphones and tablets. The app features a selectable color wheel that lets users choose from 16 million RGB color options, and a true white light color option is available with RGBW products. Users can also select from 24 pre-programmed patterns for RGB and RGBW and 170+ pre-programmed moving patterns for Chasing. A DIY pattern option can be chosen for chasing products, allowing for selecting up to 16 colors and 3 motion effects. The app also features independent left and right turn signal triggers, a brake trigger, and a music sync function.

Holly Hill, FL – October 25, 2023 –iBEAM Vehicle Safety Systems by Metra Electronics® will display new safety and surveillance solutions at the 2023 SEMA show, October 31 to November 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This device can help protect drivers from liability in cases where video evidence needs to be presented in a court setting or for insurance purposes. This window-mount DVR plugs into a standard 12V outlet that is universal to most vehicles and can be installed forward or rear-facing. It supports up to a 128GB micro memory card (not included) to provide ample storage capability. Once the memory card is full, this DVR is designed to loop back to the beginning of the feed and start recording over the oldest content. This prevents users from manually deleting their old content to free up space on the memory card. A built-in G-force sensor detects collisions and automatically locks the stored video to prevent recordings from being overwritten once an incident has occurred.

Holly Hill, FL - October 2017 – iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems®, a brand by Metra Electronics, expands its consumer solutions at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas from October 31 - November 3. A wide range of front, rear and side view cameras, with many different backup camera options will be showcased on working displays. Front, Rear and Side View Cameras

iBeam’s massive product line expansion includes 24 new waterproof cameras for consumer applications, including backup cameras with options for active parking lines, LED night vision, or both. Additional options include surface mount, hole mount or behind the license plate cameras, with fixed angle or adjustable designs, wide viewing angles and defeatable parking assist lines. Backup cameras without night vision LEDs are also available in flush, plate or surface mount options.

Video Screens

New color LCD video displays are available in 3.5 inch, 4.3 inch, 5 inch and 7 inch models. The 7 inch screen (TE-7VS) has a dashboard mount base and includes a rear-view camera and secondary input. The 5 inch screen (TE-50VS) and 4.3 inch screen (TE-43VS) are dashboard or windshield mount displays for a rear-view camera and secondary input. The 3.5 screen (TE-35MV) has a single input for the rear-view camera, and it’s multi-view function allows the image to be rotated to match the dashboard or windshield mounting orientation.

Replacement Mirror Monitors with Integrated Color LCD Screen

 A variety of universal replacement mirror monitors offer solutions for any preference or budget, with an integrated color LCD screen. A replacement mirror monitor (TE-RM45) displays a 4.5 inch feed for up to two camera inputs and includes the most widely used windshield mounts. Optional, vehicle-specific mounts are available. This mirror monitor is also available with Bluetooth® 4.1 (TE-BTM45) to integrate for hands free calling, voice dialing and displaying the incoming phone number. This model also streams audio for navigation prompts. The replacement mirror monitor also includes an option for temperature and compass display (TE-CTM45), to show the vehicle’s direction and interior and outside temperatures integrated into the top right mirror monitor.

A cost effective clip-on mirror monitor solution (TE-CM43) clips over an existing mirror and displays a 4.3 inch feed of the rear-view camera when the vehicle is in reverse. It allows for easy, universal installation.

Holly Hill, FL - December 14, 2017 – iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems® by Metra Electronics® is introducing a new 360 degree 3D view camera system at 2018 CES. This 3D camera system, the TE-360-3D, is a step up from their latest 360 degree camera system, the TE-360, with its new virtual 3D view feature. This feature allows the driver to see different angles of their vehicle at a bird’s eye view for ultimate visibility.

Four cameras mount to each side of the car and are custom calibrated by the installer for image fusion. The innovative control processor blends the feeds into one seamless 360 degree panoramic view. An additional virtual 3D view on the right shows the vehicle from an overhead perspective, allowing the user to pan in their desired direction. This added 3D feature gives the driver complete coverage, with an aerial view of the vehicle similar to what you’d experience in a video game or virtual reality.

Integrated turn and reverse triggers provide instantaneous displays of side or rear camera feeds when changing lanes, parking or reversing. This cutting-edge system provides an unobstructed view of vehicle surroundings, while recording all four channels simultaneously. Drivers can also toggle through multiple camera views for maximum guidance. For security surveillance purposes, the camera system can also record while the vehicle is parked.

It offers an optional tweeter location and includes adapter plates, speaker harnesses, grille replacements, and all hardware required for installation. Lower Dash Speaker Grille Cut-ins

Metra's new JP-1020 left and right lower dash speaker grille cut-ins enhance the appearance of 2024-up* Jeep® Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT interiors when installing aftermarket speakers. They allow installers to widen the factory 4-inch opening to accommodate an upgrade to 6-inch to 6.75-inch speakers for more vivid sound while adding a bold style. These speaker covers feature a gloss black metal mesh grille with silver accents and perfectly complement the previously released JP-1017 dashboard speaker covers and the new JP-1014 dash speaker pods.

6"- 6.75" Lower Dash Speaker Pods

The new JP-1014 replacement speaker pods are designed to replace the original 4” speaker pods located under the driver and passenger side of the dashboard in the 2018-up* Jeep® Wrangler and 2020-up* Gladiator. Each pair of pods has an ABS housing that utilizes the factory mounting locations for a secure fit that will heighten the listening experience. They are installed using the factory grommet and wiring, and a Metra 12" speaker adapter harness is included.

Dashboard Speaker Grilles

Metra's popular JP-1017 is a set of custom-designed dashboard speaker grilles designed to enhance the interior appearance of select Jeeps® when installing aftermarket speakers. Single Zone Controller with Bluetooth® Wireless Technology and Remote

The IBBTR18 is an easy-to-install controller with Bluetooth® wireless technology and a wireless remote that puts audio controls at a user's fingertips. It is equipped with built-in connectivity and auxiliary input, and its compact size makes it easy to conceal. A high-quality internal digital signal processor produces lossless audio output to the sound system. The controller is small enough to mount to a steering wheel easily and is rated IPX7, making it ideal for marine and powersports applications.

3-Zone Controller with Bluetooth® Wireless Technology

The IBBTR19 controller shares the same features as the IBBTR18, but it allows users to control the volume independently for three zones or simultaneously on the primary setting. An LED backlight on the remote indicates which zone is active. The controller is equipped with built-in connectivity with Bluetooth® technology and auxiliary input. This 3-zone controller supports APTX-HD, APTX, APTX-X Low Latency, SBC, and ACC audio formats.

Micro Line Output Converters

Install Bay will introduce two ultra-compact LOCs at Metra's SEMA booth; a 2-channel, the IBMLOC2, and a 4-channel, the IBMLOC4. These new micro LOCs allow car audio installers to add an amplifier to nearly any radio, so their customers can experience true sound accuracy at any volume level with all the highs and lows of the original audio. Unlike traditional LOCs, these devices are designed without inductors to deliver a flat 20Hz-20kHz frequency response at all volume levels. Using factory speaker wires, these innovative micro LOCs automatically convert the speaker signal into both an RCA signal and a 100-milli-amp 12-volt remote wire using DC offset. With the ability to turn on multiple amplifiers, their 12-volt remote wires deliver plenty of power without requiring switched 12-volt power sources. These LOCs accept up to 80 watts (20 volts) of input signal and deliver up to 10-volt output signal. The OEM smart radios in today's vehicles have a built-in protection circuit that will shut off or distort audio on one or more channels if the load on the OEM radio exceeds a specific impedance range. These LOCs feature built-in 60-ohm load resistors for those OE radios.

Replacement Sockets

An assortment of convenient new 6-point socket replacement packs will be of interest to SEMA attendees who are familiar with the frustration of misplacing their sockets. These sockets will come in a wide range of sizes, including 7mm, 8mm, and 10mm in 3/8 drive or 1/4 drive. Each size has short or deep options and will be available in 5-packs. Install Bay will also offer 5-packs of magnetic 1/4 sockets in the same size and replacement #2 Phillips bits.

With the convenience of these replacement sockets and Phillips bits, installers will avoid the hassle of incomplete tool sets or searching for missing components while completing a project.
