Cedar Electronics Names Christopher Cowger as President and CEO

CHICAGO, Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cedar Electronics, holding company for leading automotive and consumer electronics brands Cobra Electronics, Escort, Snooper and Beltronics, today announced the appointment of Christopher Cowger as President and CEO effective immediately. Cowger was most recently the Chief Operating & Financial Officer for ClipCast® Technologies in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A passionate and energetic leader, Chris comes to Cedar with a very strong operational background, as well as extensive sales and marketing experience.  His knowledge within the tech space includes consumer electronics, semiconductors, industrial materials, technology systems and manufacturing. 

Prior to joining the team at Cedar, Cowger has held several senior executive management positions including President of Celgard and CEO of Enerdel.   Chris also spent ten years at Dell, Inc., last serving as Vice President and General Manager of its Global Consumer Software and Peripherals division. 

Chris started his career in various engineering capacities at General Motors Corporation after receiving a degree in electrical engineering from Duke University. He also earned graduate degrees in electrical engineering and business administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
