MECP Reports a 12 Percent Increase in the Number of Certified Master Installation Technicians Since January
The Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) program has announced that in a tough economy, the number of upper level MECP certifications is actually increasing. According to MECP, since January of 2010, the number of MECP Master Installation Technicians has increased by 12 percent. This represents a 5 percent increase in program growth in 2010 over the same six month period in 2009. That growth represents 159 currently certified Master technicians available to consumers (as of July 29, 2010), which can only help the industry’s credibility with today’s demanding retail climate.

Kicker Sponsors X Games 16 Athletes
Stillwater Designs, via its Kicker brand, is sponsoring a number of X Games athletes this year. The four-day X Games event runs from July 29 through August 1. The company said its sponsored athletes have been involved with the X Games since 2001, sporting the company’s logo in front of very large television (and live) numbers of fans, who are also current, new and future vehicle owners.

Shure Manufacturing Corporation’s Custom Series Workbenches are available in stationary, portable or wall-mounted configurations. The large storage area can be open, two sliding doors or two sliding doors with two drawers. The Custom Series rolling bench can be used to store fabrication materials, chemicals and other items, and also offers a work space on top of the workbench. A retailer could roll it in and out of a shop area if they didn’t have enough space for a dedicated area, for example.
